Distance

I’m talking about getting the maximum distance that you can get on a consistent basis with the driver.  Distance is a result of three things; clubhead speed, pressure against the back of the ball and centereness of hit.  All three of these are actually taking care of by the Concept Golf swing principles.  As you keep your shoulders completely relaxed during the entire swing, you will be allowing the club to be swung at its maximum speed for you.  The golf swing is a form of centrifugal force, the rock on the string.  To get the rock to move more quickly you can either speed up the point where the string is held in your hand or lengthen the string. You will not and cannot increase the speed of the rock by pushing on the string!  In golf the rock is the clubhead and the string is the shaft of the club and your arms all the way up to your sternum.  To speed up the clubhead means that you need to speed up your sternum.  You need to move your feet and knees slightly more quickly during the through swing.  That will create a great deal more clubhead speed.  Trying to make your arms make the club go faster will result in the slowest possible club speed.  It will also create the maximum number of miss hits allowable.  The bottom line, relax your shoulders completely during the entire swing if you want to hit longer drives
