Pitching Wedge
This is the second-most important club in your golf bag. You will use the putter only slightly more than the wedge. This is a club that you’ll use from an infinite variety of distances. That is in part why this may be a slightly tricky club to get to know. The five Concept Golf swing principles apply here just like they do that every club and every shot. The question is how to get the ball to the right distance? The answer is quite simple. Just as in all other shots the Target Principle must be invoked with every wedge shot. In golf we don’t get to look at the target like we do in most other sports. The neck gets in the way and won’t allow us to make a full backswing while looking at the target. Your job is to have a very clear picture of the target in your mind’s eye, your imagination, while you are swinging. That’s the way you can actually see the target while you are swinging. With the target literally in mind, your shots will go that exact distance. It works like magic!
